PipelineRx was founded and is managed by pharmacists and healthcare professionals with backgrounds in Telepharmacy, Pharmacy Operations, Pharmacy Staffing and Healthcare Technology. This experienced team is augmented by an Advisory Board of Pharmacy and Healthcare Specialists.

Brian Roberts, Chief Executive Officer

Brian Roberts has spent most of his career focused on healthcare services and staffing. Prior to co-founding PipelineRx, he was the President of Canopy Healthcare until it was acquired in late 2008. Canopy Healthcare was the leading allied healthcare staffing firm on the West Coast. Prior to Canopy Healthcare, Mr. Roberts was the EVP of Business Development at CHG Healthcare Services, a $600 million leader in diversified healthcare staffing which supplied physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals to hospitals nationwide. At CHG, he was responsible for business development, corporate sales, vendor management, and merger and acquisition efforts. Prior to CHG, he was a General Partner at Acacia Venture Partners, a San Francisco-based healthcare venture capital fund that specializes in investing in and building leading service businesses in healthcare. Earlier, he was an Associate at Summit Partners, a $3 billion private equity fund, in Boston. Mr. Roberts holds an MBA from Boston University and an AB in Economics from Dartmouth College.

Steve Lien, Chief Financial Officer

Steve Lien has over 15 years of experience building and developing efficient finance organizations with high growth software and services companies.  Prior to joining PipelineRx, Mr. Lien was CFO for Smart Tuition, a SaaS payments company, and led them through a high-growth period and eventual acquisition by Blackbaud.  Previously, he held CFO positions at WorkStride, a SaaS employee recognition and incentives company based in New York City and backed by Riverside Capital, and at Skrill USA, where he was responsible for U.S. financial strategy and day-to-day financial and accounting operations, leading them to an $800M exit with CVC Partners.  Prior to that, Mr. Lien was VP of Finance & Operations for Hara Software, a prominent energy management software company funded by Kleiner Perkins. He has also held management positions at ArcSoft, EarthLink, and Franklin Templeton.  Mr. Lien holds a B.A. degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Craig Froude, Chief Strategy Officer

Craig FroudeCraig Froude is a seasoned technology healthcare executive with a track-record of driving rapid growth in technology-enabled healthcare organizations with an emphasis on developing new market opportunities, building strategic alliances, negotiating acquisitions, and establishing strategic partnerships and product strategies. Previously, Mr. Froude was CEO and Chairman of CarePayment, an innovative patient financial-engagement company dedicated to helping patients manage medical expenses in partnership with their providers. Prior to that, Mr. Froude was co-founder of WellMed a market leading provider of technology-enabled health management and benefit decision support programs for large employers and health insurers. During the startup phase he was responsible for raising over $20M in venture capital and $5M+ in investments from strategic partners. WellMed was successfully sold to WebMD in 2002 after which Mr. Froude ran WebMD Health Services (WHS) for seven years as Executive Vice President/General Manager, becoming President in 2010. During his tenure, Mr. Froude drove double digit revenue growth by creating relationships with more than 250 clients including Fortune 500 organizations like Starbucks and IBM, in addition to a majority of the Blue Cross/Blue Shield plans across the United States. Mr. Froude holds a B.S. in Finance from Oregon State University.

Chuck Dunlap, EVP, Customer Development and Experience

Chuck Dunlap has over 20 years of direct sales leadership and experience selling complex clinical IT solutions into the acute care hospital sector. He has a demonstrated and consistent track record of outstanding sales execution performance for high profile and mission-critical clinical products and services. Mr. Dunlap has held increasingly senior level sales leadership, sales management and customer engagement positions at Allscripts, McKesson and Meditech. Mr. Dunlap holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Bryant University. Mr. Dunlap has completed both Miller Heiman Strategic Selling and McKesson Leaders Teaching Leaders (LTL) programs.

Chris Ciolko, RPh, SVP Client Success Group

Chris Ciolko, RPh, has spent her entire career focused on pharmacy services and increasing the efficiency of healthcare service delivery. Prior to co-founding PipelineRx, Ms. Ciolko was the EVP of Business and Client Development for RPh-on-the-Go, the leading national pharmacy staffing company. Prior to this, she held several executive positions at Cardinal Health, including Senior Director of Health Systems for the Provider Pharmacy Services Division, and VP Sales and Marketing for the Enright Division. She was also the VP Sales and Customer Service for V. Mueller, a $150 million surgical products and services division of Allegiance Healthcare. Earlier in her career, Ms. Ciolko was Divisional VP Marketing and Director of Sales for Baxter/Allegiance and Baxter Healthcare. She began her healthcare career as the Director of Pharmacy for Western Medical Center in Chicago, subsequently joining Eli Lilly and Company. Ms. Ciolko is a Registered Pharmacist and holds a pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois, College of Pharmacy in Chicago.

Joe Hogan, VP Product Management

Joe Hogan brings over 20 years of product management leadership experience in the healthcare technology industry, and a successful track record of driving growth by building and launching products used by thousands of pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers. Mr. Hogan started his healthcare technology career at Pyxis prior to the successful acquisition by Cardinal Health. Since then, he has led product teams for pre-revenue startups to companies with $125 million in annual revenue and has contributed to the success of several leading healthcare technology companies including Pyxis, PatientSafe Solutions, Mirixa, Epocrates, and TRC, the publisher of Pharmacist’s Letter. Joe holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Kansas.

Kevin Jones, VP Pharmacy Services

Kevin Jones has over 25 years of experience as a pharmacist and pharmacy manager in the hospital, institutional and home care settings. Prior to joining the PipelineRx management team in 2014, Mr. Jones served as the President and co-founder of Quality Pharmacy Management, Inc., a remote pharmacy services company with client facilities in five states in the western US. Mr. Jones served as the Director of Pharmacy at Denver Health Medical Center, a 400 bed academic medical center, before he and his business partners created Quality Pharmacy Management. Previously, he was the Assistant Director of Pharmacy at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and Medical College of Georgia Hospital and Clinics, and the Manager of the home care and long-term care pharmacy services for Kaiser Permanente of Colorado. Mr. Jones received his M.B.A and pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia.

Eric Carter, VP Integration

Eric-Carter-150X150Eric Carter served as Evolute’s CTO and V.P. of Services prior to becoming CTO of PipelineRx. Mr. Carter has spent his entire career building enterprise level healthcare IT solutions. After receiving a B.S. in Computer Information Systems from the University of Northern Colorado, Mr. Carter joined MidTech Partners where, as a consultant, he was part of a team that built a health care integration platform for a large regional HMO in California.  Mr. Carter moved into the role of lead consultant and architect, after which he led several information system integration projects at hospitals around the United States. After MidTech Partners was acquired by Evolute, Mr. Carter moved into the role of V.P. of Services and led the integration services team in several projects including hospital information systems integration for large domestic and international hospitals and building an integration hub for one of the largest electronic health record solutions providers in the nation. As CTO, Mr. Carter guided the development of three software products.

Ben Buxton, VP Engineering

Ben Buxton is a technical leader with over 25 years of experience in software development. Prior to PipelineRx, he was VP Engineering at Rally Software, where Mr. Buxton led the implementation of Agile and Lean Architecture and was responsible for Scaled Agile transformation across the engineering organization, helping to develop and implement core practices to achieve predictable delivery at scale. He has a proven record of building successful platforms and applications at companies such as McKesson, IBM, DigitalGlobe, Polycom and Conexant Systems. His specialties include cloud computing, enterprise software and web services and applications, with a focus on healthcare IT systems. He holds degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from St. Cloud State University, and certifications as a SAFe Agilist and a Certified ScrumMaster.

Vera Zlidenny, VP Marketing

Vera Zlidenny brings over 20 years of experience in B2B Marketing, primarily with healthcare and technology companies. Most recently, Ms. Zlidenny spent 14 years with McKesson’s Pharmaceutical Distribution business in diverse roles including thought leadership, demand generation, program launches, generics marketing, and sales enablement. While focusing on health system pharmacies, she also engaged in numerous retail/community pharmacy programs. Ms. Zlidenny began her foray into healthcare at The Healthcare Forum, now part of the American Hospital Association, and credits her time at Accenture and with creative agencies for her expertise in strategy, branding, and messaging. She holds an MBA from the University of Michigan.
