Pharmacy Practice News – “Expanding Medication Reconciliation Hours, Services in the ED”

Pharmacy Practice News shares how PipelineRx customer F.F. Thompson Hospital has stretched hours and staffing to provide comprehensive medication reconciliation for patients admitted to the facility from the emergency department.

As shared in a poster presentation at ASHP’s 2017 Midyear Meeting, F.F. Thompson used a combination of an on-site pharmacist, a telepharmacist and several pharmacy technicians and interns to double pharmacy coverage hours in the ED, from seven to more than 15 hours on weekdays and from zero to eight hours on weekends, during a six-month study period (September 2016-February 2017).
