This presentation will focus on the use of neuromuscular blocking agents and their specific use in critically ill patients. The management and indication of NMBAs in acute respiratory distress syndrome as well as rapid sequence intubation will be discussed. Pharmacokinetic implications and pearls will be reviewed as it implies to the indication for use of each agent. Evidence based recommendations will be discussed along with supportive care measures associated with using neuromuscular blocking agents.
