Focus on the use of aspirin for primary prevention in cardiovascular disease (CVD). The epidemiology and pathophysiology of CVD will be discussed along with the role of aspirin in this setting. Historical and recent primary literature and guideline recommendations surrounding the use of aspirin for primary prevention of CVD will be reviewed. Current guideline recommendations and primary literature will be applied through patient case vignettes.
