PipelineRx Acquires Business Unit from Health Enterprises to Provide Telepharmacy Services in Iowa and Nebraska and Establishes Long-term Partnership
Deal Brings Additional Clients and Telepharmacists to Help Improve Medication Safety and Pharmacy Operations
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.—August 10, 2017— PipelineRx, a leading medication management technology company focused on clinical telepharmacy, today announces the transfer of a remote order entry business unit, including both hospital clients and telepharmacists from Health Enterprises. Based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Health Enterprises (HE) is an alliance of independent hospitals providing a variety of services to both members and non-members. The transition expands PipelineRx’s pharmacist team and furthers the company’s presence in Iowa and Nebraska while giving HE members access to PipelineRx’s leading telepharmacy services, clinical programs, and future innovations.
Hospitals, particularly community and rural facilities, today are balancing shrinking margins against an industry movement to provide more value and care for patients in the acute setting. With a larger responsibility over patient outcomes, even after discharge, these facilities need reliable solutions that allow them to optimize their pharmacy operations and help improve medication safety.
HE Pharmacy Services had been using PipelineRx’s proprietary technology solution, PowerGridRxTM—a robust, cloud-based HIPAA-compliant telepharmacy platform—helping to make this a smooth transition for all parties. By bringing these services internally to PipelineRx, each facility can rely on the company’s established best practices and continued expertise delivering telepharmacy. As part of the PipelineRx network, these facilities will now also have access to additional coverage and service offerings as they are introduced alongside the cloud-based technology.
