PipelineRx Presents Research and New Clinical Services Supporting Telepharmacy Offerings at ASHP Midyear Meeting

Poster Presentations and Solution Demonstrations in Booth #2121 Showcase How Telepharmacy Is Changing the Way Pharmacies Operate and Deliver Value

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.—December 2, 2016— PipelineRx, a leading medication management technology company focused on clinical telepharmacy, will be offering demonstrations of its SaaS-based telepharmacy platform, PowerGridRx™, at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists 2016 Midyear Clinical Meeting and Exhibition, December 5-7 in Las Vegas. With nearly 300 hospital clients nationally, the Company is a leader in telepharmacy services and technology designed to dramatically improve pharmacy operations, enhance patient safety, and reduce operating costs.

As a McKesson Ventures partner, PipelineRx will be featured in Booth #2121 where they will be demonstrating how their solutions can help create new pharmacy models driving both clinical and fiscal success. Integrated models can help optimize pharmacy resources and standardize policies and procedures across a health system, free up pharmacists for clinical services, and generate revenue by offering services to nearby hospitals.

The Company is also pleased to introduce two new clinical service offerings for improving patient outcomes and financial success:

Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP): Studies have shown that effective ASPs can improve patient care and shorten hospital stays. The program offered by PipelineRx promotes the optimal use of antimicrobials and reduces drug expenditures for unnecessary antimicrobial use while ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies. Hospitals have three clinical service level options, allowing flexibility to select the program that best fits their clinical and budgetary needs.

Medication Reconciliation (MedRec): Adverse drug events contribute to 66 percent of hospital readmissions, which resulted in over $41 billion in additional healthcare costs in 2011 according to research published in Health Affairs. Through MedRec programs, readmission risk can be reduced by 50 percent. PipelineRx offers three levels of MedRec programs to best address each organization’s specific goals – all of which leverage the

Company’s highly experienced clinical pharmacist team to deliver on industry best practices without adding staff to your organization.

“PipelineRx pharmacists now verify home medication lists within 24 hours of admission on 97% of our patients,” said Chris Dailey, PharmD, Director of Pharmacy at F.F. Thompson Hospital. “By verifying technician home medication entries into the EMR, PipelineRx pharmacists have helped us dramatically improve our level of patient safety. This could not have been achieved in a cost effective way without the help of PipelineRx,” he adds.

PipelineRx will also promote awareness of the value of telepharmacy through two poster presentations from researchers within the Company.

Medication Variance Reporting in Telepharmacy, by Hong Lam, PharmD, Director of Quality and Clinical Services; Kevin Jones, RPH, M.B.A., Vice President – Shows how implementing best practices and systems for reporting variances in remote medication order processing results in an increase in variance reporting that can be used to maintain high quality standards.

Telepharmacy: Productivity and Quality, by Hong Lam; Amber Locke, Operations and Performance Manager; Kevin Jones – Reveals no adverse impact on quality and variance rates of increasing order processing productivity of a pharmacist working remotely.

“After a year, and over 10 million medication line orders, of enhanced differentiation and new service offerings for our clients, we’re pleased to return to ASHP and continue to showcase the value telepharmacy solutions can offer to hospitals,” said Brian Roberts, PipelineRx CEO. “Our new offerings and services allow hospitals and health systems of any size find the program that works best for them, helping realize financial and clinical benefits from the pharmacy department and gain significant value from these highly skilled clinicians.”
